I don't know if I can say my mood is nostalgic when this video was shot before I ever heard of them and I only ever saw one performance by this configuration of the band, but hey...

So it seems El Torpedo is no more.Apparently the news was posted yesterday on www.mattmays.com. It's certainly... well, as a fan who hates change, in one way it kind of sucks, but as a reasonable person who knows change happens, I'm not in a big fuss over it. According to the tour page, Matt Mays & El Torpedo's short tour of the eastern US (scheduled for the next couple of weeks) has been cancelled. No idea what happened there--I'm assuming it's something to do with werewolves crossing the border ( Read more... )

After the Catherine MacLellan show ended, the evening continued: my friend and I carried on to Hunter's Ale House for the second show of the night, Matt Mays & El Torpedo.

It was sort of from the sublime to the sublime, really, although in entirely different ways.
